Well we tried updating Greenbrokerecords.com with new software. oops....a few problems..the front page is okay as is the "jammin' page" but somewhere in the mix we got the other pages imbedded all over each other. Okay, time to take the whole system down and start over. That is the better choice anyway with our new manager for Greenbroke who may have a few new ideas of his own to boot. So there will be changes for '07. Good idea anyway! "Myles To Go" is ready to press, contracts in final stages. And then it needs to be put up on Greenbroke.

'07 will be a challenging year.

Greenbroke Records is planning to offer individual song downloads.

Plenty to do but wait! take one step back - it's time for the annual local bout with Norwalk Virus. First victim in the house is down flat today! The first year this nasty bug roared up from the cruise ships to our neck of the woods the Veterans Administration Centers and nursing homes closed down - no visitors. Schools were closed. By now we see it coming and manage it better. Just one more winter inconvenience!

Donnybrook Digital is going to be doing the graphics for www.mollymyles.com . You can now hear "Take Me To The Moon", "Anybody's Game" and "Lovesick and Tired" in the Remix versions by Alex Tsionas. There will be a new bio page and Donnybook will be adding an album page as each is released, starting retro with Molly's debut album "No Way Out". Watch for Molly's singles to be available on lulu.com!

Something else on the horizon is the video of "Even Heroes Need A Place to Cry" that Donnybrook Digital will be showcasing on www.myspace.com/mollymyles. We will let you know when it's ready!

Inspirational Words

"Anything worth doing is worth doing badly."

That always makes me smile. It's a great reminder to keep on trying even when things are difficult.

I'm happy to announce that sales have increased coast to coast. And interest in Myles To Go is very encouraging.

Here's a bit of priveliged information for my loyal fans: you most likely know about how much I like to include extra songs on my CDs and tapes; well I am pleased to announce that there will be a Bonus Song on Myles To Go. I'm afraid I can't tell you the title because it's Greek and I can't remember how to spell it. The song is written and performed by Alexandros Tsionas, the same artist who did the remixes which will be on the mini-album.

Now these mini-albums are usually called EPs. I don't know why for sure. I believe that dates from the time of vinyl. Anyhow, from now on I will be referring to Myles To Go as an EP.

In the next few months the Molly Myles web team will be working on making my songs available via download, and also working on ringtones.

Spring Into Action!

Greetings music lovers,

Now is the time to get moving, both literally and figuratively. I have taken the last several months to revamp my plans. My second full-length album is still in the works and I hope will be better for the extra time I am taking with it.

In the mean time I am compiling a shorter album with a mix of original acoustic recordings and special remixes by Greek artist Alexandros Tsionas. The remixes have a unique Euro-pop feel and the more I hear them the more I love them.

Stay tuned for more info on Myles To Go, and if you're very good readers I'll let you in on the secret of the bonus track.

The Fair

Saturday was sunny and warm. Great weather for the fair. My three sets went very well. The audiences repsonded with enthusiasm. Sold some CDs, handed out a bunch of Sampler cassetes and business cards, and hopefully gained some new fans.

The comments I received were very encouraging. The song that most people liked best was "Even Heroes Need A Place to Cry." My sister Jennifer's song "Everything & More" also went over well.

I met a very nice 5 year old who told me he kinda likes my songs. Who could ask for a better review?

I have to admit I was nervous, this was my first time performing since before I got married 6 1/2 years ago. But it went very well, and I hope to be able to start performing more.

Album News: Most of you know that I have been working on album number two. Well, things haven't been gelling quite the way I'd hoped so I decided to re-think my approach. My original concept for the album had no real theme and I just couldn't decide on the title. Anyone who knows me and/or my music knows that I love irony. I've decided to go with an idea that has been floating around in my head for a while. So, my next album will be called "Beautiful Love Songs" and the first track will be You Make Me Sick. Starting over on the album means it probably will not be out by the end of 2005. I am sorry to disappoint my fans, but I'm sure you all understand.

Also I will be releasing a remixed version of "No Way Out" sometime next year.

As promised, here are Molly's set times for the Monroe County Fair. The Friday July 29th sets have been cancelled, and Molly has been asked to add two sets on Saturday.

So for Saturday July 30th, set times are:

11:30 AM
12:30 PM
5:00 PM

Molly will be available after each set to talk to fans, and will be selling CDs as well as signing autographs. If you have yet to purchase a copy of her album "No Way Out" this would be a great opportunity to do so. Also Molly will be handing out cassettes with samples from her upcoming album.

Greetings fans,

Yes, that's right, all 12 of you. Although I think only 5 actually read this stuff.

Well I was back in the studio recording on Thursday. It felt good and it went very well. Working on my new album, which is as yet untitled. I'm considering having a contest to let my fans choose the title for the album. I'm torn between 2 song titles, and several that have nothing to do with the songs at all. (A big thank you to my sister Jen for suggesting some of the really wacky ones.)

I'm working with Greek artist Alexandros (see previous posts) on an experiment with one song. Recorded just vocals for him, and he will add the instrumentation. I'm very excited to see how this goes.

I am also writing again. I now have 2 choruses, and a song with 2 verses. So that's three more to add to my unfinished list. My finished list has over 40, so I should have several more albums in me.

The new website is under construction. If I can get the computer to stay online long enough I will get at least the homepage up next week. The others might take a little longer. Time for this week's...

Hi, this is Molly. I'd like to start by thanking my fans for their unwavering support. Your comments mean alot to me, and I wouldn't be here without you. Especially Mom, she's pushy. :-)

During the past few months I've been sick quite a bit. One virus after another and one particular cold that just wouldn't go away. Being unable to work on my music much, I had plenty of time to think about the business aspects of my career. I've decided that it's time to redirect my focus. I've been trying to promote the music and leave myself out of it. I allowed my own insecurities to hinder my growth as an artist, which is unfair to my fans, and unfair to myself.

I sit before you (cause really, who stands while typing?) with renewed resolve and enthusiasm to put the music and the fans first. In the coming months look for a new website with an easier-to-remember URL, and more interactive features, as well as additional Molly Myles merchandise, promotions (including giveaways), and performances. In keeping with this spirit of change, I would like to share some of my goals with you.

1. Make money. Commercial? Yes. But honest as well. Food costs money, and so do guitars.
2. Create and distribute my music for the enjoyment of others.
3. Increase my fan base.
4. World domination.
5. Make the world a better place for all Mollys.
6. Increase sales of Black Molly fish.
7. Get people to name their children/pets after me.
8. Inspire others to realize that they too can be obscure self-produced artists who aren't confined by traditional definitions of success.

My sister called on Thursday the 24th to tell me her 12 year old niece was diagnosed with advanced cancer.
She was transferred from a hospital in Topeka, KS to Kansas University Medical Center in Kansas City where she will have surgery and start chemotherapy next week. My friend Alex in Greece has remixed some of the "No Way Out" songs adding full instrumentation to my voice and accoustic guitar. So my sister asked me to please send these new versions to her niece to cheer her up during her long hours in the hospital and then at home during treatment. So I have put together "To Allie, With Love" remixed by Alexandros. If you are reading this and you are a praying person please pray for Allie and her family in Kansas. Put in long hours putting together contracts, licenses and royalties statements for Greenbroke Records, for Take It Down Music, and Molly as writer/singer/publisher/label. Each song has its own set of numbers including ASCAP Title Code. Now that the basic quarterly paperwork is generated we can think of - yes, taxes. This is the not fun part of music! Jammin' is so much better. Molly is working on selecting the tracks for her next album, setting the order, and penciling it all in. Yes, more paperwork. momager

Check out the audio clip here on the profile! Molly wrote "....Heroes..." for her brother-in-law in the 3rd Brigade of the 101st Airborne while he was in Iraq. He had already served in Afghanistan the year before and so far it looks as though it's back to Iraq later this year. The best review of this song is that our hero is touched by it. You may be too. Welcome to Molly Myles' Blogsite! Who is Molly Myles? She is a new independent songwriter who writes alternative and crossover country.
